I am sure many of you read the title of this blog post, and your immediate response was “Of course!” But being the optimistic realist that I am, I am going to take a counter stance and inform you that 2010 will not be different simply because you say so, but rather the changes will take place once you proclaim that this year will become the foundation for growth for the next 365 days and beyond.

How many of you approach the New Year with frustration because you realize that many of the goals and resolutions which were set 365 days ago never manifested, as all you did was tell yourself that things would be different? There is a huge distinction between telling yourself you can do something versus proclaiming that you will do something. I encourage you to watch the video below because this will be an opportunity for you to witness what proclaiming looks and sounds like in order to get results and implement this strategy in your world.

The human language is one of the most profound tools in our lives because the influence it can have over our entire being is something that is powerful beyond measure. Those who state that semantics are words that can be interchanged with one another do not understand the potential that lies in the sound which is emitted from your lips. Words are like arrows because once they are released they are gone forever. There is obviously duality in this statement because with all of the good that our word choices can create, there is also destruction that could take place when expressed with the wrong intentions. But obviously, all of you know that my passion lies in creating an identity for yourself, and an integral component of this process is your self-talk. It is what you say, that never leaves your lips, but instead, ingrains itself in your mind and is reiterated time and time again. These words have the power to catapult you to an entirely new place in your life, or destroy your vision while leaving you stagnant. This is where the problem lies and how it relates with the New Year, but even more importantly, how you live your everyday life. When we share our New Year Resolutions—losing weight, spending more time with our family, starting a business, publishing a book, etc., these words are leaving our mouth and are now emitted to the world. But if our self talk is in contradiction to our external language, because we subconsciously do not believe that we are capable of accomplishing whatever it is that we desire, then there is no chance that this year will be any different than the last. Words which leave your mouth shy in comparison to the influence that the words of your mind encompass.

When you say one thing, but believe something else, your beliefs will come true, while your words will dissipate. So if you are going to simply tell yourself that this year will be different, than I encourage you to stop before you start because this will result in false hopes and broken dreams. But if you are truly committed and your internal voice matches your external expression, and you adamantly proclaim that this year is going to be different by allowing your words of inspiration to guide you while remaining conscious to the voices in your head; then I am confident that results will be brought into your world by controlling the chatter of your mind.

With all of this being said, I would like to PROCLAIM that 2010 is going to be profound and I hope this New Year brings you everything you have ever wanted and more because you are now pursuing congruency both internally and externally with your thoughts…

We are fourteen days away from 2010, and for some reason, (and I know that I am not the only person who feels this way), my intuition is telling me that something profound is going to take place this upcoming year. There are many groups of people who I am involved with for the purposes of masterminding and brainstorming, and the quantity and quality of ideas has reached new levels in the past few weeks. But with this being said, there is still something unsettling about this occurrence because every idea that was proposed is for next year. There was nothing even close to pertaining to ending this year STRONG and doing something that has never been done before. The reason I bring this to your attention is because I believe that almost everyone considers December to be a “write-off” month. We are consumed by holiday parties, New Year’s, vacations, gifts, and the one area which does not usually get the attention that it needs and deserves, is OURSELVES. Although I do not have research or science to back up this statement, I am going to share my philosophy, because I believe there are more things that are put off until next month during December than at any other time during the year. All of a sudden we get busy, and as a result of our “busyness,” we begin to postpone exercise, business deals, intimacy, and time for ourselves.

On December 1, 2009, I published a blog post entitled, The New Year Starts Right Now, and my rationale was to open your minds to taking ACTION today on any resolutions that would have been set for 2010. The reason I discussed this concept is because history is the best indicator for the future and resolutions do NOT work. We often propose these goals to ourselves in the beginning of December and do not take action for weeks. We lose impulse, we lose excitement, and we lose the drive to make a change.

I want to make one thing clear because this blog post has nothing to do with the New Year, and instead, has everything to do with living your life to its fullest potential; in which seconds, minutes, and hours are consistently recognized, as we realize that anything is possible when we choose to live in the now. I have discussed the concept of starting with the end in mind, which is a strategy that will benefit you when it comes to the manifestation of your resolutions, but what you must realize is that miracles will only take place when you are exhibiting present time consciousness and are immersed in each moment. When we are ALWAYS looking ahead to the next thing that we “have to do…” we fail to notice many of the wonders which are taking place today. If you truly want to have the 2010 that all of us believe it will be, then you MUST, and I repeat MUST, end your 2009 in way that you have never done before.

This needs to become part of your way of thinking because at 11:58pm on December 31, 2009, there is still a chance that miracles could take place in your world because miracles happen in seconds. Maybe you desire to find someone to share your life with, and as result of present time consciousness over the next few weeks, you find this individual. Maybe you yearn for a career transition in order to enable you to be in alignment with your purpose, and over the next two weeks, you connect with someone who can make this a reality. Maybe you desire to eliminate your depressed way of looking at the world because you realize that it is impeding your quality of life, and over the next few weeks, a revelation takes place and your perspective is shifted.

I can already predict what the skeptics are thinking because these examples might come across as something that would be considered fantasy, fictional, and unrealistic. I am sure that there will be people who disregard this blog post and do not allow it to become part of their existence over these next two weeks. But what I must proclaim once again is that this message has nothing to do with the New Year, nothing to do with the next two weeks, but rather everything to do with how you live you life on a daily basis. When we “write-off” time, as if it were an expense on our income statement for tax purposes, we lose seconds that will never come back. This is the intent of this message because what I am here to tell you is that regardless of whether you have this awakening right now, and start living the next two weeks like never before, TIME is something that is more precious than any monetary unit you will come across over the course of your life. My suggestion for you is to allow this message to echo in your mind, and when you begin living in “tomorrows” moment, ask yourself this question in order to become conscious in the NOW:

What miracles am I missing this second?

We are thirty days away from 2010 and I have a feeling that this will be a year to remember for those who are committed to making changes, which will result in the reclamation of your life and the realization of what makes you…YOU! The reason I have decided to compose this blog post for all of you today is because the NEW YEAR starts RIGHT NOW! What I often find is that people tell themselves they are going to begin a “diet” in the New Year, start working out in the New Year, become more conscious with their family in the New Year, create a business in the New Year, seek help for an addiction or disorder in the New Year, and the list could goes on and on. I am sure that every single person who is reading this blog post can relate with the concept of making a change in the New Year that never actually takes place. The result is just another year of unfulfilled goals, debilitated dreams, and a person who is no different this year than the last. But if you are truly committed, and your WHY is more substantial than your HOW, then the time is here to start the New Year Resolution process.

Studies show that it takes twenty-one days to make or break a habit, but I believe that having an extra nine definitely could not hurt. As a culture, we often put things off until “tomorrow” because just the thought of taking action on something that happens to be plaguing our existence is a task that we yearn to address at a later date. The problem which arises is that “tomorrow” never comes because we consistently tell ourselves that we will start the process on the tomorrow after tomorrow. What you must realize is that once you think about something that needs to change, there is NO BETTER TIME to begin the implementation method then at that point. The actual results will not be achieved the day that we begin, but will start as the process unfolds. This is the same for your New Year Resolutions because we feel the pressure to proclaim what we are going to do differently this year once the clock strikes midnight, only to awake the next morning without the insatiable desire which is necessary to have a change like this take place. I do not believe that this is a universal dilemma, but I do believe that it is as close as you can possibly get to negatively impacting the lives of everyone. Whether the tasks we need to accomplish are petty and mundane, or the goals that we set are critical to the way we live our lives, ACTION must be taken, rather than PROCRASTINATION, to affect a change.

I know that 2009 has been one that will go down in infamy as a result of the financial crisis, healthcare debacle, rising unemployment, sub-prime mortgages, war, ponzi schemes, oil shortages, etc., but there is no better way to welcome the new year than to have already begun the process of CHANGE for thirty days. These next four weeks will provide you with a foundation to grow from during 2010 and beyond. If you doubt this strategy, or you do not intend on following it because you believe that “this year will be different,” I encourage you to answer this question…

HOW COULD IT HURT TO START THE PROCESS EARLY?

If what you have done in the past has not provided you with the results you were looking to accomplish, then it is time to change what you do in the present so that your future will be drastically different. My goal with this blog post, like all blog posts, is to make you think while taking an introspective journey through your own life in order to determine where changes need to take place. Maybe this has to do with one of your relationships, your lack of diet or exercise, the amount of time you spend with your children, breaking a disorder or addiction, starting a business, writing book, etc. Whatever it is for you, I want you to understand the NEW YEAR STARTS RIGHT NOW!

I encourage you to comment on this blog post and share with the other BRANDENTITY MEMBERS what you intend on doing differently TODAY, in order to achieve your goals in 2010. We are here to support each member, while holding you accountable, so that you can begin living the life that you create for yourself, as opposed to the life that someone or something creates on your behalf…

Therefore, I would like to wish you a HAPPY RIGHT NOW NEW YEAR!
