What is Brandentity?

We live in a country that has been inflicted with events coined as crises from the birth of time. Some of these ‘catastrophes’ include various financial crises, the technology bust, Cuban Missile Crisis, flu epidemics, wars, healthcare crisis, global warming, pollution, terrorism,  and unfortunately, the list does not come to an end.  But with all of this being said, the one crisis that happens to be the root to all of these epidemics in our nation’s history is the IDENTITY CRISIS that almost everyone faces at some point in time. This crisis has the ability to plague our existence and put an end to our personal well-being.

Theorist Erik Erikson created this term and believes that this is one of the most important conflicts people face in development. This type of crisis actually commences during our youth as we are forced to conform to the standards set by our surrounding environment. This uncertainty becomes ingrained in who we are, and situates itself in all of us, as we evolve in the world. We battle identity issues when it comes to our physical image, career, relationships, spirituality, emotions, finances, and many other areas as well. As we continue to conform, we begin spiralling out of control, which results in a lack of self worth, an inability to express ourselves, and the underlying concern that we cannot be, do, and have the life of our dreams simply because we are unsure of what that looks like.

What I found is that people often sacrifice their existence, and their identity, because of the circumstances in their lives.  As a result of this plague, I have decided to create a place for individuals to visit who feel empty, lost, or simply looking to achieve more out of their life.  If someone aspires to graduate from their survival state and start thriving as an individual, then they will join BRANDENTITY. My goal is for this blog to become your beacon of hope, in an extremely convoluted world. The IDENTITY REVOLUTION will epitomize the concept that the sum is greater than each individual part. Our  mission is to work together to create an identity for each individual member. We have currently allowed ourselves to be influence by“Mainstream America,” but I want you to know that this is unacceptable!

The Revolution

Brandentity is a movement, or in other words a revolution, where people will become empowered to stop compromising and start synergizing. My goal is to inspire and empower all of you to put an end to settling on your core principles because the result will be a loss of life. Mankind typically has a small comfort zone and yearns for a companion on their journey, which is why each individual will feel as if they belong to something much larger then their minute world, as they join the BRANDENTITY.

The benefits associated with becoming Brandentified include better focus, clarity, and an insatiable desire to live with purpose. We have derived the definition of Brandentity by looking at the term through a phonetic lens where Brand is “what you stand for” and your Identity is “who you are” which is combined to create your Brandentity, or in other words, “what makes you…YOU!”

Branding

Take a moment and think about the power brands of our time; Nike, Google, Coca Cola, Microsoft, IBM, GE, INTEL, Xerox, etc; and realize that all of these companies have an identity that they have created for themselves and do not allow anything, or anyone, to get in the way of what they have developed. If someone ask you, “What is the top brand for sporting apparel,” I guarantee that 100% of you would immediately think of the Nike Swoosh and the Just Do It mentality. Since this is the case with Nike, and all of the other companies as well, then why can’t this be the case for you?

There is an entire industry called Personal Branding, and I am a huge advocate and supporter of this movement, but there is one problem that is not being addressed. Currently, personal branding focuses on developing an identity in the workforce in order to differentiate yourself from your peers. The purpose of personal branding in its present form is to create something for everyone else, without first working on ‘who you are’ for yourself. This is what makes Brandentity unique because it focuses on developing an identity for ME Inc., regardless of the opinions of the outside world.  Therefore, my goal is to have you communicate and internalize, “What is your Brandentity?”

The Time is Here and the Time is Now

What I have learned is that in order to thrive in life you need to accept the fundamental principle of giving for the sake of giving, but in order for this philosophy to have the type of impact that I have envisioned for all of the members of the IDENTITY REVOLUTION, the first person that you need to give to is yourself. That is the underlying purpose and goal with Brandentity because once you make the choice to identify with yourself and become the real YOU, then all of your hopes, dreams, and aspirations will begin to come to fruition. This journey is not for the faint of heart, but what I will tell you is that those who decide to join BRANDENTITY and experience the adventure will begin to realize that tomorrow can be even better then today. As Dr. Gabriel Cousens MD once said, “The Personality is a Case of Mistaken Identity!..We Are Born Originals-Why Do So Many Die Copies?”
