Get a moonshot…
Communicate it everywhere…
Deflect the naysayers…
Prove to yourself you have what it takes…
Make it happen or go down knowing you gave it 100%!
I shared this the other day to a group of young entrepreneurs and then someone challenged me…
Naysayer, “What’s your moonshot Jared?”
ME, “10k tech companies in 10 years.”
Naysayer, “That’s ridiculous.”
ME, “Watch me!”
That was the entire conversation and the naysayer ended up leaving the room, but then I went on to share why moonshots matter and how to overly simplify your moonshot in your mind so that no one, even yourself, can stop you.
Will There Be More Or Less Than 10,000 Tech Companies That Launch In The Next Ten Years?
Every young person said - WAY MORE!
My point exactly…
Every moonshot can be proven to be easier than the words indicate.
The words of 10,000 tech companies in 10 years seems impossible…
What type of infrastructure would be needed?
How many people would be hired?
Why the quantity over quality?
Where is the funding coming from?
What does the management look like?
Ahhhh - this is just so inconceivable?!?!
These are completely normal questions from someone who thinks linear…
But when you think exponentially, which is a choice and anyone can do it, you find the path of least resistance.
For me, this is how I process 10k in 10 years…
There will be more than 10,000 companies launched in the next 10 years.
Each of these 10,000 companies will need X number of people to operate and run them.
If these 10,000 companies are on islands by themselves their chance for success becomes strained.
If these 10,000 companies are in an ecosystem they exponentially increase their ability to succeed.
CILA just needs to hire X number of people for each of these 10,000 companies and put them inside of our ecosystem and they will WIN in a way that was never possible before.
Do you see what I did here?
I just took the moonshot of 10k in 10 years and made it easy…
We hire X…
Align them with each company…
Add them to our ecosystem…
Everyone wins!
And this oversimplification of a moonshot can be applied to ANYTHING!
Take A Look At Lealzy
One of the CILA Labs portfolio companies is called Lealzy, which is a reward software and ecosystem for small businesses.
The moonshot for Lealzy is to build an ecosystem of 50,000,000 small businesses that are supporting billions of people all inside of their relevant micro ecosystem which we call a HUB (500,000 total).
These numbers are just INSANE for a linear thinker, but if you apply my moonshot method from above then here’s what you need to do…
1 - Make the HUB a business opportunity for any small business who wants to launch a local (zip code based) networking group where they can invite other businesses in the zip code to join for free and the HUB owner gets paid a percentage of all credit transaction fees. (www.LealzyHub.com)
2 - Arm the HUB owners with all resources needed to scale their HUB with businesses which will help hit the 50,000,000 moonshot target and each business needs resources to chip away at the billions of people moonshot.
3 - Get a list of zip codes and target specific businesses in each zip code that would be best to launch the HUB (500,000 in total) and all of a sudden we landed our rocket ship called LEALZY on the moon for our moonshot.
Listen, if this makes you dizzy, just keep on trying to overly simplify what you WILL achieve and build access points, which I call accelerators to help get you there.
For LEALZY there are HUBS and for CILA there are a wide array of access points, but the morale of the article is this…
Your moonshot is NOT linear and it’s also far from impossible, just simplify it so the outcome becomes undeniable.
