Leading from the stage is easy…
Nearly anyone can do it...
You enter into your state or zone.
You put on a big smile.
You say the right thing.
On the contrary, leading when no one is watching is what separates people who have earned or have been given a position of leadership with the true leaders.
DO AS I SAY
OR
DO AS I DO
The person who has been given a position of leadership or earned it is often a DO AS I SAY leader…
“Live with integrity…”
“Manage your finances…”
“Eat healthy food…”
“Be nice to others…”
SAYING these comments is easy…
They sound good…
People will applaud…
You will LOOK like a great leader…
BUT what separates the person in a position of leadership and the REAL leader is that the REAL leader does not need to SAY anything…
They JUST DO IT…
And they DO IT regardless of who is watching or even if no one is watching.
REAL LEADERS show up…
REAL LEADERS do the right thing…
REAL LEADERS are examples because of what they are doing, what they have done, and not because of what they have said they are doing or have done…
REAL LEADERS are decisive…
REAL LEADERS have immense clarity…
REAL LEADERS screw up but fix their mistake (regardless of who is watching)
REAL LEADERS don’t have ego…
REAL LEADERS don’t need or want credit…
REAL LEADERS never lose, but also ensure that everyone around them always WINS
REAL LEADERS are leading in their home…
REAL LEADERS have a special relationship with their family (not just their fans)
REAL LEADERS have a team who would run through a wall for them because they would run through a wall for their team…
REAL LEADERS are straight talkers and have nothing to hide…
REAL LEADERS are executors who see a problem and solve it…
REAL LEADERS realize nothing is above them and nothing is beneath them…
I could go on and on and on about REAL LEADERS because this is a topic I am not only passionate about, but I feel called to share because…
REAL LEADERS must step up, step in, and LEAD right here and right now…
But it goes even deeper…
For me, I have always been a REAL LEADER and a darn good one…
Recently, a few people have told me what my leadership has done for them…
I was NOT surprised by their breakthroughs…
Nor was I shocked to hear how I helped…
But here’s what was interesting about having people explain to me what my leadership has done for them…
It has made me more intentional…
It has made me more aware of my super power…
It has made me become more vocal with the desire to light your LEADER flame.
One thing I know is this…
The GREATEST LEADERS are not doing it for any reason other than it’s their calling…
No ego...
No credit…
No hidden agenda…
But the GREAT LEADERS are also just people and they benefit from being SPARKED, CATALYZED, AND PUSHED…
SO…
If when reading what I have shared with you elicits an internal response of obligation, positive overwhelm, and a desire to step up, step in, and become the REAL LEADER that you know you are and you know you are meant to be…
Well then…
NOW (not tomorrow, not yesterday) but RIGHT NOW is your freakin time.
