I Will Do What Most Won’t

"I am willing to sit in a space of discomfort…

Filled with the unknown…

A space where growth is inevitable…

For better or for worse…

Because I know most won't."

-Jared Yellin

What do you do when stepping into a space of discomfort?

Do you go all-out and immerse yourself with the goal of extracting as much learning and growth as possible?

OR

Do you quickly retreat to your known, a place where you can have a more predictable outcome?

Discomfort is a fascinating feeling…

It shows up when things are wrong…

It shows up when things are right…

And nearly everyone dreads when it shows up…

Let’s take a look at DISCOMFORT when things are RIGHT…

-You secure a massive business opportunity…

-You need to make a big hire…

-You decide it is time to move to a new state…

-You meet someone and begin to fall in love…

-You start a new health regime…

Now, let’s look at the other side of the continuum…

DISCOMFORT when things are WRONG…

-Your career is a dead-end...

-Your relationship needs to come to an end…

-Your health decisions are leading to physical challenges…

-You must end a business partnership…

-Your values are in question…

Here’s what’s so fascinating…

Your DISCOMFORT is a sign that GROWTH is right around the corner, IF and ONLY IF, you are willing to remain in the DISCOMFORT and avoid the magnetic force to step back into your predictable which will absolutely hold you back from reaching the next level of your life.

-Say YES to the business deal…

-Hire your next rockstar…

-Pack up and move your life…

-Let yourself fall in love…

-Immerse yourself in your new health routine…

-Quit the job…

-End the relationship…

-Commit to putting your health first…

-End the bad business partnership…

-Eliminate what is challenging your values…

All of the above represent sitting in your discomfort and then using it as a mechanism to take your life to the next echelon.

BUT…

It’s human nature to seek pleasure and avoid pain and since discomfort could be perceived as painful, there is a chance that your natural reaction will be to retreat…

Retreat back to the norm…

Retreat back to the mediocre…

Retreat back to the predictable…

I am NOT judging you at all - regardless of what you do - but if you are wondering how I am able to “do what I do,” it’s 100% because I love being IN discomfort…

I love it for so many reasons…

1- I know I am about to accelerate.

2- I learn immense lessons on what matters to me.

3- I am certain that I am about to grow.

4- My self-mastery and self-awareness will become even more zoned in.

5- I am always exactly where I am meant to be...AND SO ARE YOU!

Fighting against gravity makes NO SENSE - right?!?!

Well, fighting against discomfort, growth, and the unknown is equally as foolish because these feelings are present to serve you so that you can learn, grow, and rapidly accelerate.

So, when the discomfort creates pain…

Ride it out…

Recognize you are never given more than you can handle…

Introspect deeply…

And ask yourself this…

Can I experience discomfort BUT do it anyway? (IT is whatever you are trying to accomplish)

If the answer is YES - then you know what to do…

FALL IN LOVE WITH DISCOMFORT!

Live with Intention,
