The Bridge That Connects Your Idea With Reality

Commitment is the bridge that connects an idea with its reality and the only thing that can get you across the bridge is consistent, intense, and driven action.”

- Jared Yellin

“I have been thinking of this idea for 4 years.”

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!

I can’t remember the last time I thought of an idea for 4-minutes without executing - if you don’t believe me ask our team - and I am serious.

What have you been doing with your idea for FOUR years?!?!

I can’t express enough how unproductive it is to perseverate on a good idea…

I get it…

You want more clarity…

You want more certainty…

You want more time…

You want more support…

You want more ___________!

But sitting on an idea is NOT going to get you more of anything other than more stalling…

I would rather see you try and fall short than to think and not start.

Let me say this one more time...

I would rather see you try and fall short than to think and not start.

And here’s what is so fascinating to me…

I am in a unique position where I am pitched/presented ideas at about 10+ a day every Monday-Friday. The people who have sat on their ideas the longest feel like their ideas have immense value when in reality...they are just an idea.

As a result…

They want an NDA signed…

They negotiate on equity…

They have tons of needs and wants and desires…

And this is EXACTLY why their idea will always be just that...an idea!

Whereas the people who execute quickly understand the need for speed and also the value of an idea… NOTHING!

The value of the idea is only realized when the IDEA crosses the chasm and becomes a reality that produces value.

This Is Why You Need A Bridge And You Need It NOW!

Your bridge between your IDEA and your REALITY is commitment…

That’s it…

People who have told me that they have been sitting on an idea for years have simply not committed to their idea…

Fear

Doubt

Uncertainty

Complacency

Safety

I am not sure why but it’s probably one of these reasons if not all of them, but how has NOT committing served you?

This is such a critical question to answer and my hope is that you begin to answer it sooner than you might have in the past…

Because when you had your initial idea it was rooted in the fact that something in your life was suboptimal…

Health

Wealth

Productivity

Relationship

Career

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.

And the idea that emerged was one that would solve your great dilemma and then what did you do…

SAT ON THE IDEA...so...

How has it served you to NOT commit?

The odds are your great dilemma has gotten worse…

You are more frustrated…

You are more unhealthy…

You are more in debt…

You are more unproductive…

You are more unhappier…

You are more of whatever it is that you sat on…

Let Me Give You An Example…

The day before Thanksgiving in 2020, I realized that there was a NEED at CILA Labs

Early-Stage Financing for some of our portfolio companies…

I most certainly could have sat on the fence and done nothing with this idea…

I had every right to give someone else the responsibility to solve this dilemma…

I could have easily pretended that this idea never popped into my mind…

And what would have happened…

1 - We would never accomplish our mission - 10,000 tech companies by 2031

2 - We would never hit our goal - make 10,000 people $1,000,000+ by 2031

3 - We would never solve the problem - 10,000 efficiencies eliminated by 2031

All because I SAT on an idea…

So, instead…

I committed…

And I took consistent, intense, and driven action.

Within 7 total days - ChangeMaker.ventures was born AND dozens and dozens of people were able to join and become Angel Investors for the first time AND the portfolio companies that needed capital...got capital!

But NONE of this would have happened if I sat on the idea…

And NONE of what you WANT to happen will happen if you sit on your idea…

So, it all comes down to making a choice…

COMMIT

Or

SIT

But there’s only one choice and you need to make it and my hope and desire for you is that whether you have been sitting for 4 years or 4 minutes that this article helped you realize the need to commit...right now!

Let’s ROCK!
