I Told You So

“What people don’t realize when they say ‘I Told You So,’ after something did not work, is that the person who tried is miles ahead of where they are, as they sit from the sidelines in fear.”

- Jared Yellin

The fear of being proven wrong…

Paralyzing…

Overwhelming…

Painful…

Debilitating…

Embarrassing…

FREAKIN EXHILARATING!

I have a completely different perspective of being proven wrong because if cynics, skeptics, and the insecure did not exist then it means I am not doing something bold, audacious, and big enough to get their attention.

The other day, I was talking with a cynic…

Super successful person who absolutely thought and thinks I am CRAZY to even think about launching 10,000 tech companies in 10 years…

When I sensed his disbelief and judgement, I stopped the conversation and made a statement that changed the direction of the dialogue…

“Listen Bob, I am either CRAZY or ONTO something and regardless of which side you reside, you will watch me attentively, so I got what I wanted from you and this conversation.”

Why do so few people stand in this level of certainty…?

Why do so few people live with such doubt and disbelief that they can…?

Why do so few people go after their big, bold, audacious vision…?

And my answer to these three rhetorical questions is…

“I told you so…”

What if your parents say it…

What if your spouse says it…

What if your friend says it…

What if the press says it…

What if your colleague says it…

What if…

What if…

What if…

The fear of these four words are the single reason why you play it safe and don’t have what you want in business and life…

Listen, I am complete and utter maniac because not only do I not care about these four words, but when I have fallen short in the past or will fall short in the future, I YEARN for someone to say this to me…

I listen…

I don’t react…

And then I take SEISMIC action…

Because what this person fails to realize is this…

1 - They had no crystal ball so they sound ridiculous with the statement

2 - I am miles ahead of them simply because I tried

3 - I would rather fail 10,000 times than be them and not try at all

Why Am I Writing This?

I feel called to share this message…

I feel that at least one person who reads this article will realize what’s holding them back…

I feel that the world is ready to stick it to the naysayers by not allowing the prospect of their doubt to hold back your potential…

And most importantly…

I feel that it’s time to grow thicker skin!

I speak with aspiring and real entrepreneurs every 30-minutes of every day and at least 50% of these calls are with people who live in doubt…

People who live in caring what others think…

People who live in disbelief of their ability…

People who live in safety, security, and fear…

I am writing this so that it speaks to whatever part of your life currently lies dormant because you are too afraid for mama or papa or wifey or husband or kiddo or friend or anyone to say…

“I told you so…”

And I am writing this for me…

I am writing this because I know there are people who think I am nuts…

Far too audacious…

Way to bold…

Over-the-top…

And I want you to know something REALLY important…

Regardless of the outcome, I love the role you are playing in my world…

It inspires me…

It drives me…

It makes me louder…

AND…

It validates that I am ONTO something (and slightly crazy) REALLY big that has your attention…

My Hope And Desire…

I hope I rub off on you…

I desire to help you see a model of someone who deeply does not care what anyone thinks (besides his wife and kids)...

My hope and desire is this…

The world NEEDS you to step...step in...light your fire...and go after your big, bold, and audacious and if/when you fall short - get even more excited when you hear those famous four words…

But as they utter the four words…

Hear my voice…

“I told you so…(you are FREAKING onto something - now - don’t stop)”

Live with Intention,
