Meant To Be...

"Denying meant to be

Leads to a life of regrets..." - Jared Yellin

Meant to be might not always look and feel warm and cuddly…

It actually could be riddled with fear, followed by discomfort, followed by pain, and then followed by meant to be…

But the key is not to resist the process.

I spend a ton of time in reflection each day…

Not harping on the past AT ALL…

Rather looking for distinctions that create clarity in my present…

Meaning in my now…

And lessons to support the decisions of today.

As I reflect on the EPIC and the CHALLENGING, I find myself almost always uttering the words…

“MEANT TO BE”

And I never resist meant to be…

Do You?!

Listen, resisting meant to be is not only normal but it’s common.

99.9 of 100 people try to deny meant to be and instead pull the victim card— “why me,” “ughhhh,” “this sucks,” and a host of other statements which are uttered when these things don’t go your way, which is then closely followed by stagnation or even retreating!

But there’s a real issue in denying meant to be because what you lose is the opportunity that resides inside of the challenge.

When the unexpected takes place, this is what happens to you…

1 - You catalyze

OR

2 - You resist

But the challenge is the challenge regardless of your decision (1 or 2), but the exponential difference is that when you resist, the challenge keeps you stuck, which ultimately moves you backwards as the world is always in a state of progress, AND when you catalyze you build velocity, which carries you wayyy beyond your ultimate desire as you accomplish more than you ever thought possible.

BECAUSE…

You enter the land of opportunity called BLUE OCEAN. The most overpopulated place to reside in a challenging situation is resistance - this is where EVERYONE lives - and when you catalyze you become part of the .01% who look at every challenge as the opportunity it truly is.

And meant to be is NOT an exercise of looking backwards once the situation is over and you have lived to tell the story, but rather…

MEANT TO BE IS A WAY OF SEEING OPPORTUNITY WHILE INSIDE OF THE UNEXPECTED SITUATION!

I get it...this is difficult, but it’s not impossible and it happens for the BETTER!

Resisting is hard work because you are holding onto the challenge for dear life leading to white knuckles, stress and discomfort because you are actually choosing to reside in the challenge.

On the other hand…

Catalyzing happens to be much easier because of the velocity effect I mentioned earlier. When you catalyze during meant to be, you end up quickly outpacing the difficult situation and the momentum begins to pick up AND you step into that .01% uncrowded territory! You just need to commit to this path when the challenge happens so that you can fully benefit.

A Few Examples Of Choosing Catalyst...

Wood W. and his book

I have a good friend named Woody.

Woody is an extraordinary sales trainer, speaker, and author of 20+ books. Over the past few years, he went all-in on his most prized work to date, which was publishing a book capturing his very unique personality driven sales formula. He invested many many years and tons of money into this book and then he ordered 10,000 copies to begin distribution.

As the pallets arrived at his home and he tore open each box and he was unpleasantly surprised to notice EVERY single book was printed with TONS of inadequacies.

The cover artwork was not centered…

Pages were not cut…

Images were pixelated…

And the list goes on and on and on…

This book was a multi-year process that represented $100,000’s and Woody’s publisher was not being receptive to the poor quality of each book.

Woody had a choice…

1- Resist Meant To Be

2- Catalyze Because of Meant To Be

Well, he chose path 2 and the rest is history…

  • He sold every copy of the book that was printed poorly and people LOVED having an original signed copy.

  • He built a MASSIVE tribe of people who were more connected than ever because of his transparency.

  • He booked the largest speaking engagements of his career to share this story.

  • And his WINS go on and on and on…

AND AND AND AND!

None of this would have happened if he resisted meant to be OR if he waited until the challenge was over and looked back. In this example, waiting would have meant having the publisher reprint the book and ship 10,000 new copies, which would have taken 60-90 days and all of those WINS would have been delayed or never happened.

Karl K. and his event, movement, etc.

I have a friend Karl who is the President of a company that represents the most powerful group of health entrepreneurs in the world.

The core business of this company is one VERY large event which represents the vast majority of the revenue for this organization.

Well, COVID had other plans which led to ticket sales of only 20% of what was expected.

Remember, this one event is like 90% of the total revenue for the company.

YES, COVID happened and everyone has been impacted, but some, like Karl, have been impacted for the better.

He could have easily pulled the victim, why me, ughhhh, this sucks card and he would have been in good company because this is what most people have done during this uncertain time, but Karl chose to catalyze when meant to be happened…

  • Launched a 6-week bootcamp.

  • Took the event virtual and has 50% more people from last year.

  • Onboarded more people into his high-end mastermind than ever because people saw how well he responded.

  • And the wins continue to accumulate...

COVID should have devastated Karl’s business, like it has for sooooo many, but Karl chose to CATALYZE when nearly everyone else resisted and his story is just getting started now while most have ended.

Jared Y. (ME!) and the story of SYNDUIT

6.5 years ago SYNDUIT ran out of money…

Not because we were doing poorly…

Instead- we were self-funding a massive software development project gone wrong…

Payroll was due on Friday...

My accountants told me to cut 95% of the team…

The pressure was tangible - like you could cut it with a knife…

And I remember asking myself this question…

What if this was MEANT TO BE?

What if this was MEANT TO BE a chapter in my memoir…

What if this was MEANT TO BE for each person on my team to see and experience…

What if this was MEANT TO BE to see how resilient I was…

I had every right to quit…

I had every right to moan…

I had every opportunity to run and hide…

But do you know what I did…

I accepted MEANT TO BE and took massive action…

Launched a course in 48-hours…

Sold $250,000 worth of training…

Made payroll and the rest is history…

I don’t know about you - but I love MEANT TO BE - something great (even if it’s disguised) always comes from it.

My Ultimate Catalyst During Meant To Be…

I want to make sure you know that choosing to resist or choosing to catalyze is 100% a choice.

You might try and convince yourself that your situation is just more difficult, trying, or impossible than anyone else, but this is just resisting being disguised as an excuse.

COVID-19 will go down as the first challenge in human history where every living human has felt it in some way shape or form. ZERO people are immune to the situation, and for the record, I don’t mean the virus...I mean what the media is doing to paralyze the word with fear.

As a result of this FEAR…

Many businesses have closed…

Most people are stagnant…

Kids are out of school...

But not everyone…

Some people and businesses have been able to catalyze seismically because of the meant to be of COVID-19.

And since I NEVER NEVER NEVER encourage you to do anything I would not do, here’s how I responded to COVID-19 and catalyzed my entire life…

  • Sold my equity in a company that stood outside of my CODE.

  • Launched CILA Labs which will have 20+ tech companies by the end of 2020, 100+ by the end of 2021, and 10,000 by the end of 2031.

  • Wrote a book.

  • Launched an Angel Investor Network called Changemaker Ventures.

  • Moved my family from CT to FL so our kids can have a normal life.

  • Hired many dozens of people.

  • Deployed 15 versions of SYNDUIT.

  • And my list goes on and on and on….

PLEASE don’t look at this list as me showing off or being arrogant or being insensitive to people struggling.

That is NOT the purpose at all and I absolutely don’t want or need your praise.

Instead…

I want you to make a decision that SERVES YOU…

Decide to resist

OR

Decide to catalyze

EVERY situation, challenge, or roadblock is what it is…

The key is that you recognize it is MEANT TO BE when it happens and then CATALYZE...

And for the record…

It’s never too late to declare this is meant to be and catalyze because of it so today can be your day…

Let’s do this!

Live with Intention,
