Your Building Awaits

“There are 2 ways to build the largest building in a city— (1) Tear all of the large buildings down

or (2) Build a larger building.”

-Jared Yellin

I am not sure when speaking poorly about other people or businesses became the path to success...

A few years ago, I was working with an entrepreneur who had a mission to tear apart one of his competitors.

Let’s call this person Ron to hide the actual identity.

Just for the record…

This “competitor” (let’s call him James) was completely out of Ron’s league - miles beyond where he was - and I always found it comical and disturbing the way he spoke about this REAL influencer.

The comical part was how much Ron was consumed by the success James achieved…

The disturbing part was how Ron spoke about James publicly…

He criticized James as a father…

He berated James as an entrepreneur…

He accused James of misleading people…

But the irony was that Ron did not know James…

They never met…

He never saw James with his children…

He had no proof that James misled anyone…

But he went out of his way to challenge his character on a public level.

I remember one day being disgusted by Ron and realizing this is not someone I could ever work with because I have a different belief on what it takes to become the BEST at what you do…

You can either try to tear down every building so that you are the biggest…

OR

You just build the biggest building…

James just built the biggest building…

Ron wanted to tear down James’s building versus just building a bigger building…

This is such a critical lesson…

Do you critique people who have what you want in order to try and bring them down to where you are?

Do you berate people who make you feel insecure not because of who they are but because of how you see yourself?

Do you try to bring others down simply because it partially makes you feel better about yourself?

Here’s my reality…

I don’t care about what anyone else is doing and I am PROUD and INSPIRED by those who have what they want…

But what I also know to be true is this…

I will build the BIGGEST building that I want and that satisfies my needs without ever feeling drawn to negatively impacting the buildings that other people are building.

I am no better or different than you - but I do potentially have one thing that you don't…

INCREDIBLE levels of self-respect, self-love, and self-admiration.

I know you CAN get there and I know you WANT to get there…

Start by building your own BIGGEST building!

Live with Intention,
