Your Motivation Must Grow

“Become more motivated as the journey becomes more difficult because ordinary people typically become less motivated and they also quit while you continue to build velocity and momentum.” - Jared Yellin

You get knocked down once, what happens?

You get knocked down for a second time, what happens?

You get knocked down for the nineteenth time, what happens?

Getting knocked down is an interesting experience to assess because most people will get up the first time and call it bad luck, but the second time they call it “I don’t have what it takes,” and by the nineteenth time they have already quit about seventeen times earlier.

Your Motivation Must Grow

But here’s the real challenge…

When people get knocked down they take it personally…

“Ugh, my parents were right. I will never amount to anything.”

“Ouch, I can’t imagine feeling this way ever again.”

“I knew that I did not have what it takes.”

The default for getting knocked down is every limiting belief that has ever existed in one's life coming to the surface all at once and making so much noise that this person can’t remotely hear their belief amidst the echoes of doubt.

What if EVERY setback happens for you and not to you…

What if EVERY roadblock was intended to have you change course slightly…

What it EVERY knockdown was to slightly slow you down to prevent something more severe…

I Choose To Celebrate The Darkest Moments Because I KNOW They Could Have Been SOOOO Much Darker...

I’m not sure about you, but the words “Why me,” have never and will never leave my lips.

I have an incredible level of gratitude when things don’t go my way…

I have a sense of progress when I am knocked down…

I have a realization of newfound strength when a challenge emerges…

It does not even cross my mind that I can’t or I won’t or I shouldn’t…

It’s actually the EXACT opposite…

YES, this is happening!

YES, I am going to grow!

YES, I will be better because of it!

And listen…

This is absolutely NOT positive self-talk…

This is absolutely NOT intended to distract me from the situation…

This is absolutely NOT hyperbole…

I feel excitement on a deep level EVEN when I feel a sense of pain, frustration, anger, lack, etc.

And this feeling VERY quickly will engulf any of the negative emotions and I get back up with WAYYY more intensity, WAYYY more resilience, WAYYY more clarity, and WAYYY more certainty.

I launched a company a number of years ago that became VERY successful VERY quickly, but there was a falling out from the partners.

From any perspective, this was more than a roadblock, but rather a screeching halt.

I sunk money into this deal…

I sunk TONS of time into this deal…

I sunk TONS and TONS of relationship capital into this deal…

And then POOF...it was done!

I remember in that moment recognizing I have a choice to make…

1 - Sulk, mourn, complain, and sit stagnant <<< the most popular option

2 - Show up with WAYYY more intensity, WAYYY more resilience, WAYYY more clarity, and WAYYY more certainty

As you probably guessed, I did NOT choose the most popular option and instead went with number 2…

Since making that decision, this is what I made REAL…

  • Launched www.Project10K.com which is a portfolio of SaaS ideas turned into commercially viable businesses.

  • Launched www.CR8TE.com which is a Private Equity Operating Company focused on acquiring SaaS companies that have plateaued.

  • Launched www.CR8TE.com/israel which is an initiative focused on saving the tech ecosystem in Israel.

  • Gained support from www.CR8TE.com/ifb which is a 501(c)(3) that is bridging the innovation gap.

  • Launched www.jaredyellin.com which pumps out practical and tactical content daily.

  • Moved 8x but each time was better than before.

And guess what x2…

  1. There are TONS of additional things I have accomplished from this roadblock.

  2. I am NOT sharing this for an applause, a WOW, or any reason other than I want you to see an example of someone who has been knocked down wayyy more than most and each time I get back up with more audacity, intensity, clarity and strength.

Listen, do you and do what works for you but all I can say is this…

EVERY challenge has happened FOR ME…

I hope you embrace the same perspective.

ROCK on!
